With Christmas fast approaching and the inevitable task of buying gifts for your motorsport-mad friends and family drawing ever closer, I wanted to compile a list of the best motorsport merchandise available to you this Christmas. All the items in this blog post are the perfect present for the motorsport lover in your life and range from best-selling books to quality clothing items.

In addition to my Christmas gift guide, many of you will notice the giveaway that is accompanying this blog post. This will be the first giveaway here on katyfairman.wordpress.com and I wanted to make it a special one. I have been lucky enough to collaborate with my favourite brands and events within motorsport to bring you a giveaway worth over £175.

Let’s begin!

ALYSSA SMITH JEWELLERY LTD

http://www.alyssasmith.co.uk/

I have been following Alyssa and her jewellery for years; before I even started blogging in fact. Having won award after award for her stunning designs, Alyssa branched out into motorsport and partnered up with television presenter Suzi Perry. The two helped create the Smith&Perry motorsport jewellery collection and it has gone on to become a huge success.

The selection of motorsport jewellery available is magical and with items being available in both silver and rose gold metals, these make the perfect gift for the female racing fan in your life. The team can even personalise the silver helmets they sell with any number – a beautiful present for someone with a favourite driver.

However the jewellery available isn’t just for women, Alyssa has also created a variety  of men’s products from cufflinks to male chains.

In addition to the unique jewellery pieces, select proceeds from the motorsport collection are donated to Promise Dreams Childrens Charity, a Wolverhampton based charity of which Suzi is a patron of, and which Alyssa now also has much involvement with.

JAMES GIBSON PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTS

http://www.jamesgibsonphotography.co.uk/

James Gibson, an automotive and motorsport photographer based in the UK, has designed several stunning prints inspired by a selection of races on the 2016 World Endurance Championship calendar, as well as a special print from the 24 hours of Daytona.

These ideal gifts are on high quality Giclée print on Hahnemuehle Photo Luster (semi-gloss finish) 290gsm paper and available in A3 or A2 sizes. The products are also safely shipped in strong cardboard tube.

Prices start at £19 with all prints being printed to order. For me, the quality and fantastic designs means this would make a perfect splash of colour for any office.

The car is drawn first; basic outlines and livery colours and logo’s laid out, then the shading and highlights over the top,” James tells me about the work that go into creating the prints. “Then add details to the car, shutlines, vents etc. Once the cars done and in place the background follows. Obviously with these prints I kept with the flag theme for each of the backgrounds.”

TICKETS TO THE AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL SHOW 2017

http://www.autosportinternational.com/

Having been to the Autosport International Show for the past two years running, soon to be third in January, I have fallen in love with the action-packed motorsport weekend at the NEC. There is always something going on, whether that be a stage talk from Jean Todt or Petter Solberg going completely nuts in the Live Action Arena.

As well as featuring some of the best motor racing machinery under one roof for fans to enjoy, I have found the event a great chance to catch up with friends and connections from your social media circles – the location of the show means it is easily accessible for fans across the country .

In addition to the incredible collection of cars and bikes that are available for motorsport fans to drool over,  the guest list is equally impressive. Last year motorsport royalty such as Damon Hill OBE, Felipe Massa, Susie Wolff, Andrew Jordan, Jean Todt, Petter Solberg and Gordon Shedden were all in attendance, plus many more.

ICONIC CLOTH T-SHIRTS

https://iconiccloth.co.uk/

If you are anything like me, any piece of clothing that screams ‘I love motorsport’ is a winner. Iconic Cloth are a brand for the discerning petrolhead, 100% British and offer vintage motorsport and classic car art t-shirts with that are of premium quality, unique and all limited edition.

All of the exclusive artwork that appears on our unique motorsport t-shirts has been commissioned for our use, showcasing the work of established and pioneering auto artists such as Joel Clark and Tavis Highlander and Marc Carreras to produce truly unique results,” the founder of Iconic Cloth, Matt, states on the brands website.

One collection which has proved a huge success with the brand is their ‘Speed Icons’ collaboration with talented artist Joel Clark. Clark works with cut vinyl, so for every T-Shirt design there is a physical work of art developed. You can find more about Joel’s work here: https://joelclarkartist.carbonmade.com/ Pieces in this collection include shirts that pay homage to the Ferrari 250 GT, the Lamborghini Countach LP500 as well as the Audi Quattro S1 and its Pikes Peak mission from 1987.

As well as the ‘Speed Icons’ collection, Iconic Cloth have recently designed the perfect t-shirt that commends the 1966 Le Mans winning Ford GT40 driven by Bruce McLaren and Bruce Amon.

DRIVEN: A F1 THRILLER BY TOBY VINCENT

Back in the summer of this year I found an email in my inbox about a new F1 thriller all centred around a “malicious conspiracy” within Formula 1. Immediately interested, I read the reviews and knew straight away that this book was something that I needed.

“Driven – it howls along like Lewis Hamilton round the streets of Monaco,” Boris Johnson had stated.

“A page-turning conspiracy thriller…[Vincent’s] attention to detail captures the spirit of current F1,” F1 Racing magazine added.

So Toby sent me a copy and as expected I have been hooked. I don’t want to give to much away just yet as I am keen for you to pick up a copy for yourself but the story is filled with twists and turns, with a surprising lead character to the book. I hope to publish a review early next year but trust me when I say that this would make the ideal reading material to get you through this long break from F1 that we have now the 2016 season is over!
